Motorists in Oconto will likely soon be seeing Gators on city streets. The Oconto City Council on July 10 approved revising an ordinance allowing the utility vehicles, which have cargo beds and are generally used by businesses and on farms, on city streets. The city already allows golf carts on all streets, except Smith and Brazeau Avenues, while ATVs are allowed only on certain streets. Police Chief Mike Rehberg said businesses, such as lawn companies and landscapers, as well as Cruisers, have requested the change, saying it would provide them flexibility in their operations and they don’t want to violate any laws. The change is effective July 18.
