28 dogs and a variety of other animals were removed from a Town of Pittsfield home Thursday, according to the towns chairperson. The home is just off of Highway 29, on County Road Y, not far from the Brown-Outagamie County line. According to Chairperson Keith Deneys, 28 dogs, two snakes, a quail, a bearded dragon, and a guinea pig were taken from the home and brought to the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Green Bay campus. The original call came in for a person who died of natural causes at the home. When deputies arrived, and saw the living conditions, they called Pittsfield’s animal control officer. Deney’s says there are other people who might carry responsibility for the animals. He says the sheriff’s department is considering criminal charges.
