It has been a long, difficult process but yesterday FERC issued an order that allows Eagle Creek Renewable Energy to immediately operate the Shawano Dam at a target level of 802.9 mean sea level. The four tenths of a foot increase amounts to about five inches of water. The dam is already operating to raise the water level. We should see an immediate impact along he rivers. We can expect that higher levels will be noticed on the lake over the next few days. The timing of the increase of the water level is more difficult to predict. A substantial amount of water flow must occur to increase the water level on the 6,000 acre Shawano Lake.
