A group of Vietnam veterans from northeast Wisconsin will get a chance early next year to return to the country where they fought five decades ago. Old Glory Honor Flight began accepting applications a couple of weeks ago for a free two week trip to Vietnam, which is expected to happen in late February and early March. Anyone from northeast Wisconsin who served in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, or Thailand between Feb. 28th 1961 – May 7th 1975, can apply. Only 50 veterans will be selected later this year through a drawing. The idea for the trip to Vietnam arose after the honor flight brought a group of veterans back to Pearl Harbor in 2012. The organization is trying to raise at least $150,000 for the 2019 trip.
