A former McDonald’s Clerk accused of stealing debit cards has been charged with four counts of identity theft and four misdemeanor counts of theft by credit card. Jean-Paul Jay Hascoat, 30, was the culprit. He had a card stealing plan when he took the first of four cards on May 19th. He targeted people with Community First Credit Union cards for easy replacement. When one customer would come through the drive thru he would swap the previous card he stole with theirs, often leaving the drivers unaware that they no longer had their cards. He used them a multiple locations including Kwik Trip and Walmart. The New London Police Department with the help of McDonalds management were able to arrest Hascoat on June 11th.
