Waupun 6 – Ellsworth 3
Waupun bounced back from an early 3-1 deficit with five unanswered runs. Brayden Sanders’ two-run single to left highlighted a three-run fourth inning that gave Waupun a 4-3 lead. Senior right hander Brenden Bille struck out 10 and surrendered 5 hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched
Jefferson 14- Mosinee 2
A nightmarish inning put an end to Mosinee’s season. Jefferson erupted for 11 runs on eight hits in the third inning. Ian Dray’s three run home run soared over the left field wall highlighted the outburst that saw the first 11 batters of the inning reach base. nine Eagles had at least one hit and scored at least one run
Division 3
St. Mary Catholic 4 – Mineral Point 0
TJ Skrzypczak dominated from start to finish to help SMC reach the state final for the first time since 2016 when they won it all by striking out five and facing the minimum amount of batters, 21, in the complete game outing.
Webster 14 – Kenosha St. Joesph 8
Hunter Gustafson pounded out five hits and drove in four runs to highlight a potent offensive punch for the Webster baseball team. Webster had 16 hits and scored in every inning but two.
Division 4
Athens 3 – Ithaca 1
Marshall Westfall went 2 for 4 at the plate and Connor Westfall went 1 for 2 with an RBI to help the Blue Jays get one step closer to repeating as State Champs and winning it for their fallen teammate. Play Ellenbecker was the winning pitcher going 4 2/3 innings allowing five hits and getting 3 strikeouts.
Thorp 6 – Johnson Creek 5
Thorp now 14-10 entered the postseason 8-10 on the year and now stand one win away from winning the state title. Wyatt Denzine went 2 for 3 adding an RBI in the victory. Teammate Reese Drost was only 1 for 3 but managed to get on base scoring three times in the game. Drost got the win for thorp on the mound in relief and throwing three innings allowing only one hit and one run.
