More than 60 cats were removed last week from an Oconto County home by the Wisconsin Humane Society. 42 cats have been moved to humane societies in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Ozaukee the remainder are at the Oconto Area Humane Society. All the cats are being treated for upper respiratory, eye or skin infections and being tested for ringworm, some are missing eyes and ears and some were even deceased. The county was notified by neighbors about the cats when the owner asked for their help in taking care of them. Upon arrival it was decided the home was unfit for human habitation and the state took over. The Humane society said if you think someone is struggling with animal hoarding to contact law enforcement or a local animal welfare organization to get help.
