The City of Clintonville is looking for new ways to revitalize downtown. The city had a study done by an outside company and determined that downtown captures only about four percent of the spending of the surrounding area of Clintonville, Marion, Bear Creek and Tigerton. Key opportunities that were brought up were the historic buildings, the Pigeon River and providing programs for the youth. Andrew Dane who helped run the study said a river walk would be a great addition, along with building more housing complexes to accommodate people. This plan has a lengthy strategy for implementation and Mayor Beggs said not all the plans were feasible but some could get done.
