A New London man will serve 20 years in prison following sentencing in Waupaca County Court on a homicide conviction. Forty-two year old Chad Magolskientered an Alford plea to a charge of felony murder-armed robbery, in the murder of his New London neighbor, James Park, in December 2007. Magolski was convicted by a jury in Park’s death in 2012, but that verdict was overturned on appeal because the trial judge allowed some evidence to be improperly presented during the trial. magolski’s Alford plea allowed him to maintain his innocence, but with that plea, he acknowledged that the state had enough evidence to get a conviction. Along with 20 years in prison, Magolski will serve 10 years extended supervision upon release.
