Randal G. Griepentrog, age 66, of Tigerton died unexpectedly on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, Antigo.
Randal George Griepentrog was born on October 18, 1951 in Tigerton to George and Serena “Judy” (McFarlane) Griepentrog. He grew up and attended high school in Tigerton. In his early years, Randy helped out on his parent’s dairy farm and then he began driving truck. He was a heavy equipment operator for Merlin Much – Tigerton Dray Line and also drove school bus for Tigerton School District for some years. Randy drove dump truck for many years for Sambs Trucking LLC, Antigo, and worked first for Chuck Sambs and currently with Mark Sambs.
Randy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. He liked listening to classic country music and watching old westerns on television. Randy was often seen in western style shirts and jeans that had to come from his favorite place, Fleet Farm. Randy also enjoyed going to Sears to check out the Craftsman Tool section. He was a real handyman who could fix just about anything large or small. Whether it was a home project, a motor vehicle, or his lawn tractor Randy got the job done. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan. Most days Randy stopped in at Main Street Diner, Tigerton, to eat but he was always there on Fridays for the Fish Fry. Randy loved spending time with his dear friend Robin Selle and her children.
Survivors include a sister, Cheryl (Robert) Lehman of Tigerton and a brother, Jay Griepentrog of Tigerton. There are two sisters-in-law, Ann Griepentrog of Tigerton and Lori Griepentrog of Elderon. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Randy is preceded in death by his parents, a sister LaVonne (Gerald) Wuske, two brothers Glenn and Warren Griepentrog, and one niece Faye Wuske.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Rev. Sharon Fox-Bogen will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting with the arrangements.
