A Townsend man has been bound over for arraignment on six charges, including two felonies, for allegedly pointed a handgun at an Oconto County deputy. Richard A. Steldt, 38, waived his preliminary hearing in Oconto County Circuit Court. Steldt was charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon, and intentionally point firearm at law enforcement officer, punishable by maximum sentences of 10 years and six years, respectively. He was also charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated, resisting an officer, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. At his initial appearance, Steldt’s bond was set at $10,000 cash.
