The Waterways Association of Menominee and Shawano Counties (WAMSCO) is having their annual meeting on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Belle Plaine Town Hall on Highway 22 in Clintonville. The meeting gets underway at 9:00 a.m. The group is a Citizen led Multi-county waterway (lakes, rivers, streams, watersheds) association. It has recently formed a partnership with the Fox Wolf Watershed Alliance in order to bring some much needed resources to these two counties. Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance will Introduce new staff and opportunities for local Water Resource Improvements. At 10:30 Scott Frank, Jeremy Johnson, and Jessica Schulz will look at county programming/cost-share opportunities and overview of implementing the Lake Management Plan/Human Dimensional Science grant. Then wrapping up the meeting will be Brenda Nordin DNR – Aquatic Invasive Species Research and the results of 2017 control efforts. The public is invited to attend this meeting to learn about what you can do to improve water quality in the area.
