Safe Haven domestic violence and sexual assault emergency shelter will be breaking ground on their expansion this Sunday. The ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. at their current facility. The project will include upgrades to the current security and technologies systems, a roof replacement on the current facility and adding additional bedrooms, offices and a community area and should be completed by fall 2018. Since the emergency shelter opened in 2002, the agency has doubled its personnel and started offering more programming for both shelter and outreach participants. The board of directors began discussing a possible expansion more than a year ago and has currently met 60% of their $425,000 overall campaign goal.
