William Karl “Bill” Hamann, Jr., age 49, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer on Friday, March 16, 2018. Bill was born in Shawano on February 24, 1969, the son of William K. and Judith A. (Perrault) Hamann. Bill enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1987, serving honorably until his discharge in 1989. On April 1, 2014, Bill was united in marriage to Liana Musum in Shawano. He worked as a real estate broker and was a member of the Shawano AMVETS, Figure 8 Musky Club, NRA, North American Hunting Club and the Wisconsin Bow Hunters Association. Bill loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and hiking.
Bill is survived by: his wife, Liana; two sons, Hunter and Mason Hamann; step daughter, Kayla Bayer; step son, William Bayer; his parents, William and Judy; and three brothers, Kurt, Aaron (Nicole) and Timothy.
Funeral services for Bill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Blake Blakesley officiating. Inurnment will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Shawano AMVETS. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund will be established in Bill’s name and can be directed to the Hamann family.
