More than 4,000 homes and businesses in northern Oconto County would get broadband internet service if a grant request is approved by the Public Service Commission. Oconto County Economic Development Corporation applied for $600,000 in funding, which would be matched by the provider, Bertram Communications. The seven fixed wireless towers that would serve more than 4,300 customers in the towns of Breed, Riverview, Brazeau, Lakewood, Townsend, Doty and Mountain. PSC also has a second request for $46,000 in funds so N’sight can provide high-speed internet service to the business park in Oconto Falls. N’Sight would provide half the funds, with local partners and the PSC covering the other half.
