Concordia was born on December 10, 1918 in Shawano, Wisconsin to the late Theodore and Alma (Luebker) Kupsky. She was baptized on December 28, 1918 by Rev. Frank F. Selle at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She was confirmed on April 30, 1933 by Rev. Walter J. Plischke at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Her confirmation verse was, “Be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5 (KJV). Another favorite scripture was, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13 (KJV). She also liked saying, “Life is fragile, handle with prayer.” She was a woman of strong faith and commitment to the Lord.
At the age of two, Concordia and her parents moved to Bonduel where she attended St. Paul Lutheran School. She began high school in Bonduel, then attended Shawano High School, graduating in 1937. On August 16, 1941 Concordia was united in marriage to Arnold Beversdorf. She farmed with her husband in the Town of Richmond for 24 years, from 1941 until 1965. She then moved to Shawano where she lived from 1965 until 2011. In July of 2011 she moved to Valparaiso, IN to live with her son, James Beversdorf and his wife, Bonnie.
Mrs. Beversdorf was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stony Hill, Shawano, Wisconsin, where she taught Vacation Bible School, served on the Church Council, the Centennial and Anniversary Committee, and an officer of the Ladies Aid and LWML Society. She was a leader in the Red River 4H Club from 1954 until 1962, a member and officer of the Shawano Chapter of the Valparaiso Guild. She also volunteered at the LCFS Thrift Store for many years.
