The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office says they have identified suspects in the ice shack break ins that occurred early this week. Sheriff Adam Bieber wrote in a Facebook post that detectives are speaking with the “persons of interest” and are confident they will be bringing the cases to disposition soon. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who had property damaged or stolen that is not reported to contact the sheriff’s office.
This follows a series of break-ins on Shawano Lake on Monday. Bottles of liquor were taken in one incident and a tackle box and lights were stolen in another. In many cases, there was nothing taken but the shacks were vandalized, with doors being ripped off the hinges, windows broken out and the insides ransacked. One owner estimated the damage to his property to be about $400.
