More than $8 million in federal funding has been awarded to Wisconsin communities to improve their responses to sexual assault and domestic violence cases.
In Keshena, the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin received $500,000 while the Fox Valley Technical College received $450,000. A full-time detective dedicated to domestic violence cases will also be provided with the grant. The Department of Justice says the grants will last the next three years.
In total, more than $30 million was awarded to 50 applicants throughout the country.
