In a move that was unanimously popular, Mayor Jeanne Cronce announced that a Culvers will be coming to Shawano. The store’s owner, Ken Horkan said the Shawano location would be ready by June, at the earliest.
“That all depends on the weather,” Horkan said.
It will be located at 1224 E. Green Bay St.
Smalley Park Proposal moves forward
The Shawano Common Council approved a letter of intent from the developer for the proposed residential development at Smalley Park. City Administrator Brian Knapp wanted to be clear about what the approval is not.
“I think that we should not treat it as a contract,” Knapp said. “It’s a letter of intent and we talk about it as such.”
During discussion on the issue, Knapp also addressed the desire for single family many homes, which many residents have advocated.
“We haven’t any interest by [anybody] interested in buying it and subdividing it into houses for single family housing,” Knapp said. “The site is actually too small for what most peoplewould consider lots large enough for a new single family home with the expectations we have for garage space.”
The approval of the letter of intent between the city and Tadych Investment of Green Bay passed on a 4-2 vote.
