The Waupaca Sheriff’s office says they are still investigating a road rage incident from this weekend.
It happened on Highway 54 when a 32-year-old New London man reported a driver was tailgating him. The man told police he slowed down so the white Chevy Malibu could pass, which eventually happened. But the Chevy Malibu then slammed on the breaks in the middle of the highway. They both eventually pulled over when the New London man says the other driver grabbed a baseball bat and tried to attack him. He said he put the other man in a headlock.
He also told authorities he attempted to take a picture of the license plate but driver began to take the license plate off his car and drove away. The New London had a broken tail light as a result of encounter but he did not wish to pursue anything. The sheriff’s department has the name of a possible suspect but they were unable to locate him.
