A New York state man has been indicted for allegedly traveling to Shawano to have sex with an underage girl.
The United States Attorney of the Eastern District of Wisconsin says that 45-year-old James A. Huskisson faces federal charges of sexually exploiting a minor and enticing the minor to engage in illicit sexual activity.
According to the criminal affidavit, an administrator at Wolf River Lutheran School notified the authorities in September about a suspicious vehicle with New York plates in the school’s license parking lot.
Huskisson was even stopped a Shawano store for shoplifting later that evening but officers said they weren’t aware that the vehicle had been reported as suspicious earlier and they were unaware that the man in the car was a convicted rapist. He was given a citation for shoplifting.
A few day later, the female student told the school that she was in an inappropriate relationship with a man from New York, and that man had come to Wisconsin and bought her some items, according to the criminal complaint.
Authorities inspected the girl phone and found messages between her and Huskisson as well as sexually explicit photos that had been exchanged. According to the complaint, when he was in Wisconsin, the two had sex.
Huskisson will be transported to Green Bay to face federal charges, if convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
