Preston L. “Buzz” House, Sr. “Nawac-Keke Kapowew-Aqsen” (Stands First with a Rock), age 68 of Keshena, started his journey to the Spirit World on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, surrounded by his family.
Preston was born October 18, 1948 in Keshena, a son of the late Weston “Buddy” House and Mildred (Kinney) House. He attended St. Joseph School and later Shawano High School. On October 21, 1967 he was united in marriage to Donna Pamonicutt in Gresham, Wisconsin. He then entered the United States Marine Corps, serving in Viet Nam from 1968 to 1969. Preston received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in combat, and was honorably discharged. Once a civilian, he was a Disabled American Veteran.
Preston is a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena. He enjoyed working on cars, playing cribbage, shooting dice, watching MMA Wrestling, and was an inventor of everyday gadgets. He was a member of the Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Preston had great respect for the Menominee cultures and traditions.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Crandon; his children, Joan House of Crandon, Diane (Dan) Peters of Keshena, Cathy House of Green Bay, Barbie (Charlie) Kincaid of Crandon, Keith (Jenny) House of Green Bay, Patrick (Jen) House of Keshena, and Christopher (Cassie) Pena of Kewaunee; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Weston House, Jr., Michael House, Sr., and “Wendy” Corn; his sister, Ruth Waupoose; his sisters-in-law, Joyce (Wayne) Pamonicutt and Roberta (Lloyd) Tourtillott; brothers-in-law, Sam Pamonicutt, Michael Pamonicutt, and Jim LaRock; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer House; his son, Preston House, Jr.; his brothers, Jerry House, Lee House, and Warren House.
A Funeral Mass for Preston will be celebrated on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena. Fr. Joel Jores will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Keshena. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Vets of the Menominee Nation. Visitation will take place at the Joyce Pamonicutt residence, W2842 Lakeview South, Keshena on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 after 3:00 PM until the procession leaves for church at 12:45 on Thursday. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 at the Pamonicutt residence.
