Bowler High School has reported that they have cancelled their game tonight against Gibralter due to a lack of healthy players. Athletic Director Jeff De Perry said the team started the season with 11 players, but they lost two to injury, and three others are not at 100 percent this week. “We are not throwing in the towel yet, but we did contact Wausau Newman for next week and changed the game to a Junior Varsity game.”
DePerry said the third and final game at home against Wausaukee is up in the air yet.
“We want to do everything we can to play the game, it is our homecoming in Bowler.”
The Bowler/Gresham roster is already one of the smallest rosters in the area. The game was scheduled to be Homecoming in Gibralter. All other Homecoming festivities are on as planned, and Gibralter will play a flag football scrimmage instead.
