A rookie Wisconsin State Patrol trooper and his girlfriend were arrested following a domestic disturbance in Oconto Falls during which his service weapon was discharged.
The trooper, Brandon Hunter, said the woman held his pistol to his head and pointed it at him several times throughout the ordeal on Aug. 16, and shocked him with his service Taser.
Deborah A. Simon, 24, was charged with second degree endangering safety, battery and disorderly conduct.
Hunter, 26, was charged with strangulation and suffocation, battery and disorderly conduct over an incident she told police happened earlier that month. Hunter was among the 41 troopers sworn in April 7 at a ceremony in La Crosse after completing the 25-week State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy.
