A Menominee Indian School District bus was rear ended this morning, as it was stopped on Highway 55. Officials from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department stated the bus had its flashing lights on at the time of the incident. No students were injured in the accident, but the driver of the vehicle that struck the bus, sustained significant injuries, and was airlifted to a nearby hospital by Thedastar. The vehicle was towed from the scene. All students were transferred to a second bus. The highway was closed for about one hour this morning.
