It was nothing but praise for those attending the Oconto County Fair this year, capping off a great weekend. It was also the first for Fair Board President Chris Engebretson.
“We got through Thursday through our opening ceremonies with some rain with the Vietnam Vets opening ceremonies, but excellent weekend overall,” Engebretson said. “It was a great turnout. The crowds were just great. We added a sandbox and I think the families were just fantastic about that.”
Participation for animal showing was also a plus for Engebretson.
“They’re just grateful back there,” he said of those showing animals. “Our hog barn, our beef, our dairy, every barn was full. Poultry was down a little bit this year, but we had a little changeover in families, but it’ll be back.”
The four-day weekend was capped off with the Ag Olympics on Sunday night.
