Safety concerns are preventing the Shawano City-County Library from distributing the solar eclipse glasses.
Because Amazon could not confirm its supplier is using a recommended manufacturer, it suggests that the library doesn’t use the glasses for view the eclipse. The library received the following comment:
“Amazon has not received confirmation from the supplier of your order that they sourced the item from a recommended manufacturer. We recommend that you DO NOT use this product to view the sun or the eclipse.”
The library will continue to offer its solar eclipse display, viewing of the NASA Edge Mega-cast on our large, flat screen TV, and also materials to make a projector to safely see the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21.
