Governor Scott Walker confirms that he’ll be at the White House for a 4 p.m. “major jobs announcement.”
President Donald Trump expects to give the first official word that Foxconn has chosen Wisconsin for a new electronics plant where thousands of people would make flat screen TV panels.
Walker tweeted that he was in Washington Tuesday night where he saw the Brewers beat the Nationals 8-0. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos of Racine County is also in the nation’s capital — and the new plant has been rumored to go in his district, where residents say they’ve received generous offers to sell land for the project.
We don’t know how much the Taiwanese Foxconn will get in government incentives to locate in the Badger State — but the latest unofficial word is that it would be $1 billion to $3 billion throughout a period of years.
