According to federal prosecutors, 35-year-old William Wilber IV will serve two 10-year prison sentences at the same time, with another 10 years on supervised release after having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl in May 2015 and a 14-year-old girl in July 2016. Both cases occurred on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
Additional investigations into Wilber revealed “several other occasions where Wilber took sexually inappropriate actions toward underage girls.”
During sentencing, Chief United District Judge William Griesbach pointed out the history of similar conduct of Wilber “preying” on underage girls, referring to his use of alcohol as a tool to overcome the resistance of the of his juvenile victims.
The case was investigated by the Menominee Tribal Police Department and the FBI, with significant assistance from the Willow Tree Cornerstone Child Advocacy Center in Green Bay.
