The Clintonville Diamondcats lived to play another day in the Bonduel Class A Regional after knocking out Peshtigo with a 13-8 win Thursday.
The game went back-and-forth during the first three innings, as the two teams traded leads.
Each team had a big fourth inning: Clintonville scored five runs on four timely hits, while Peshtigo pushed across six runs on five hits to cut Clintonville’s lead to 10-8.
The Diamond Cats would tack on three runs of insurance to put the game out of reach in the fifth inning.
Jordan Koeppen and Connor Kluth each recorded three-hit games, with Kluth finishing a home run shy of the cycle. He also picked up the win on the mound. Hunter Vollmer collected a pair of extra-base hits by doubling twice.
Clintonville and Bonduel will square off Friday at 5 p.m. for a right to continue regional play.
