After spotting the Navarino Rangers a 3-0 lead in the second inning, the Bonduel Broncos came back to tie the game in the sixth, but ultimately fell in the championship game of their home invite 8-4.
Bonduel played small ball to chip away at the deficit. A sacrifice bunt from Hunter VanderLinden scored Austin Siolka in third and J.C. Reinke would score in the fourth to cut the deficit to one.
Navarino extended their lead in the sixth when Matt Krause led off the inning with a solo blast to coushin the lead 4-2.
The Broncos responded in the home half when Jack and J.C. Reinke scored on an RBI single from Matt Sheelk, but Ryan Boettcher came on in relief to strand the bases loaded to hold the game at 4-4.
Navarino took the lead for good in the eighth when Boettcher led off the inning with a single. After stealing a base, he came around to score the go-ahead run on a two-out, RBI single from Justin Richter.
The Rangers picked up three insurance runs in the ninth, which began with a lead off homer from Ben Prodell.
Boettcher earned the win in relief for Navarino while Mike Nompleggi shut the door for the two-inning save. Nompleggi was also named Tournament MVP.
Wyatt Reinke took the loss for Bonduel.
Both teams werer 2-0 entering the championship game after sweeping their respective pools.
