After more than 50 years of serving people in the Shawano area, Hilgenberg Realtors is about to undergo a change. Hilgenberg Realtors has sold its Shawano business to the Real Estate Group. Terry Hilgenberg said it was time for someone else to take over, but says those who are currently buying and selling through Hilgenberg Relators will have more tools, the same agents and a similar feel.
“People are not losing jobs with this move” said Hilgenberg said. “The great news for our family here in the office is that it is going to be business as usual, but there is going to be a younger manager and better technology”
Hilgenberg said the technology side of real estate has changed drastically through the years, and this change will allow those options to be available for Shawano area buyers and sellers. The Real Estate Group in based in Joliet Illinois.
The new manager will take over on Wednesday. Tyler Jedwabny also manages the New London office for the Real Estate Group. Hilgenberg himself is not going away soon. Terry said he will stay on board for at least a couple of years, but assures that everyone is in good hands as family remains a focus.
“The Prodehl family, which owns the Real Estate Group, is very similar is operational and ethical standards. Ed Prodhel reminds me very much of my dad, and Mike Prodehl is about 46 years old. He Has a lot of enthusiasm and many more years to be in the business than me” Hilgenberg said.
Hilgenberg Realtors opened in 1963 when Terry’s father Neal started it up. The company has been associated with Coldwell Banker since 1983.
