Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Greg Gard hopes to build some team chemistry when his Badgers make a four game foreign trip to New Zealand and Australia August 14th through 24th. Gard tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel there “couldn’t be a more optimal time” to make the trip, and he says the key is to “invest the time and go through the process.” The Badgers are in the second week of their summer workouts, as Gard seeks to build a team around center Ethan Happ. He says he’ll use different lineups on the foreign trip, so players can get the time to “develop and grow.” He says sophomore guard D’Mitrik Trice looks physically stronger than last season, and he’s seen improvement from forwards Andy Van Vliet, Charlie Thomas, and Alex Illikainen along with sophomore Aleem Ford.
