The 14th annual Waupaca Master Gardeners Garden Walk and Art Stroll will be held in the Waupaca area this Saturday.
The walk will feature a total of five gardens, down from the originally planned six because of recent storms. Master Gardener Sally Marchel Handrich says there will be plenty of unique sights, sounds and other aesthetics to take in.
“They are very unique, beautiful gardens that each offer something different,” she explained. “Some are shade gardens, some are sun gardens. There may be vegetables grown and some vegetable gardens and things of that sort, interesting landscapes.”
This year will also feature local central Wisconsin musicians and artists in the gardens. The walk draws in the neighborhood of 200 to 250 visitors each year.
“People come through from all over,” Marchel Handrich said. “I think the biggest draw is the fact that these gardens are all unique in that they are designed by your average person.”
Tickets for the garden walk are $10 and can be purchased the day of on Saturday, or picked up at the Waupaca Chamber Office. The gardens will be available for tour from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
