Rawhide Boys Ranch in New London is offering a big incentive for its “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly” vehicle donation campaign, which could reward one lucky donor a Wisconsin Dells vacation.
To enter the contest, those who donate a vehicle to Rawhide will receive a thank you letter explaining how to post their picture of the vehicle, which then gets voted on by the public to determine a winner
“This is something new that we’re going to try,” explained Aaron Geitner, Director of Rawhide’s Vehicle Program. “We’re pretty excited about it and it’s a fun way to get the general public involved not only in the donation process, but also the voting process. All the donations that we receive go directly to help all of our outpatient clinics, our programs here at the ranch, so every donation does count.”
Each year Rawhide Boys Ranch depends heavily on vehicle donations from the public to support their multiple youth programs they offer.
Earlier this year, they saw a trend of decreased vehicle donations because other non-profit companies were using Rawhide’s service mark, and were accepting vehicles that had been submitted by donors believing they would go to Rawhide. Geitner says numbers have rebounded since then.
“The donations have been steady and the issue that was at hand back in March has basically been dealt with,” he said.
Those thinking of making a vehicle donation to Rawhide have until July 19 to become eligible for the Wisconsin Dells vacation.
