Just after 12:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Seymour Police Officers responded to the 600 block of Crestview Dr. for a report of an armed male who intended to shoot himself.
Authorities made contact with the 32-year-old man, but as negotiations started the man suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
No officers discharged their weapons and there were no additional injuries reported with the incident. The 32-year-old man was taken by Eagle III medical helicopter to a local hospital for treatment.
According to authorities, the incident was isolated and there is no safety risk to the community.
The Seymour Police Department was assisted by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, Black Creek and Freedom police departments, as well as the Seymour Fire Department and Seymour Rescue Squad.
