Everett J. “Newt” Newton, age 52 of Kaukauna, peacefully began his journey to the Spirit World on Monday evening, May 22, 2017 at his home in Kaukauna with his sister, Judy, at his side, after a long battle with illness.
Everett was born July 26, 1964 in Shawano, a son of the late Alfred and Violet J. (Butler) Newton. Newt attended the Shawano Schools and Fox Valley Technical College. He held various positions, and was most proud of the Management positions he held. Newt most cherished the time he spent with his children and extended family. He loved to shoot pool, listen to and play music, fish and hunt. He contracted as a DJ for many years. Many remember him for his harmonica playing skills and sarcastic personality.
Newt is survived by his three children, Corey, Cameron, and Heather Newton, all of Appleton; three grandchildren; three sisters, Renee (Nolan) Mahkimetas of Shawano, Glenda Hollsten of Appleton, and Judith Ann Newton of Shawano; his brothers, Eugene Newton of Green Bay, Mike Newton of Appleton, Jerry Newton of Freedom, and Alfred “Baby Gene” (Kala Jo) Newton of Keshena; special nieces, Tammy Kosbab (Steve Swierczynski) of Rhinelander, Tsilos Schoener (Chaz Duranceau) of Weston, and Carol (Jeremy) Voldsness of Green Bay; his very special friend, Amanda; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandi; his brother, Wayne; and a nephew, Joe.
Funeral services for Everett Jay Newton will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Fr. Luke Ferris, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
