Three injuries were reported in a three-vehicle accident that took place Monday morning in Shawano County. Crews were called to Highway 22 at Swan Acre Drive between Shawano and Cecil. Reports indicated that three people were transported from the scene of the accident by ambulance with unknown injuries. According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, a pickup truck operated by a 22-year old Gillett man was traveling behind another vehicle heading northbound on Highway 22. The investigation showed the man looked down for a moment and ran into the back of the vehicle that he was following. That vehicle lost control and went into the southbound lane, striking a vehicle that was operated by a 25-year old Shawano man. The driver of the northbound vehicle was a 58-year old Neenah man. Both drivers and a three-year old child were taken to the hospital. Officials say the three-year old was in a car seat. The Gillett man was not treated for any injuries. No other details on the crash have been released.
