Martin Brunner, age 89 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2017 at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living Center in Shawano where he had been a resident for nearly three years.
Martin was born on May 31, 1927 in the Town of Belle Plaine, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Dillenburg) Brunner. He attended country schools in Belle Plaine and later attended Shawano High School, graduating in 1945. Following school, Martin lived on and farmed the Brunner Family Homestead with his father and brothers on the Brunner Gold Star Farms in the Town of Belle Plaine until his retirement in 1993. Martin was a good and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Martin is survived by one brother, Michael (Darla) Brunner of Shawano, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Anton, John, George, and an infant brother, Frank Brunner; six sisters, Frances Lieg, Elizabeth Jeske, Magdalen Bartz, Anna Brunner, Margaret Adams, and Mary Stieber; and his sister-in-law, Carol Brunner.
A Funeral Mass for Martin Brunner will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Luke Ferris will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass.
