Monday, March 27 will be the 10th annual Taste of Shawano event, held at the Shawano Community High School and put on by Junior Achievement.
The Taste of Shawano showcases culinary creations from local restaurants and is something everyone can enjoy.
“We have 25 vendors on the books for this coming Monday,” said Sandy Evinger of Junior Achievement. “We have some great entertainment. We’re going to have the Ignite Dance Studio and Shuffles Dance Studios there entertaining us and we have some wonderful sponsors this year.”
The event runs from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and will even feature a special guest this year.
“Miss Wisconsin is appearing the whole event,” Evinger said. “She will be available for photographs and also giving autographs as well, so come on out to see Miss Wisconsin, our wonderful tasty food, and enjoy the entertainment from our young folks.”
All of the proceeds from the event benefit the youth served by Junior Achievement, locally.
“Our Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in our global economy,” Evinger explained. “We are an organization that’s been around a long time, just here in the Wolf River District, we have been here 11 years officially.”
The Junior Achievement Wolf River District serves 2,870 students in 149 classrooms in Shawano and Menominee counties.
Tickets for the event are $15 in advance. At the door they will cost $20 for adults, $10 for students, and free for children under five.
