Kaukauna 73, Pulaski 63
As if people needed a reminder, Jordan McCabe proved once again why as a junior he’s regarded as one of the best high school basketball players in the state. In front of a packed house in Ashwaubenon, McCabe would pour in a game-high 32 points to once again help his Kaukauna Ghosts eliminate Pulaski from sectional play.
This year’s contest was a much different story than 2016 when Kaukauna took a commanding 16-point halftime lead. Pulaski led by one at the break and led by as many as seven during the final minutes, but Kaukauna, led by McCabe, would storm back and finish the game on a 23-6 run.
Despite dealing with first half foul trouble, Jacob DeStarkey still managed to finish with 18 points. The Red Raiders were led by Wade Geenan’s 21 on the night.
Kaukauna also received contributions from Luke Eiting, who had 16 points and 12 from Dylan Kurey.
Kaukauna now attempts to defend their Division 2 state championship when they face Cedarburg in the sectional finals.
