The Clintonville Police Department is hoping to raise $375 for a microchip scanner, due to the high volume of stray cats and dogs the department takes in.
The Clintonville Police are also responsible for running the animal shelter for the city and believe the purchase could reunite pets with their owners much faster, while also cutting expenses. The scanner would be able to read any microchips placed in pets, which would have information on their owner.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by the department and they need about $300 more to reach their goal.
