No. 11 Wausau East at No. 6 Shawano
The Shawano hope to overcome an injury-plagued end to their regular season by advancing out of the first round of regionals, when they host Wausau East Tuesday night. Shawano enters postseason play having lost seven games in a row. Their last win came against Xavier Jan. 26. Shawano does have a favorable opening round matchup against Wausau East, a team that was shutout in the Wisconsin Valley, and has only one a single game all season. East has seen their fair share of struggles, losing six in a row. Their lone win of the season came on Jan. 31 at home against Antigo, a team Shawano also defeated 54-41 in December. The winner of Tuesday’s matchup will have their work cut out for them in the next round, having to travel to New London to take on the 3rd-seeded Bulldogs on the road.
