Shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, a crash occurred on Hwy 47 at STH 156 in the town of Lessor, south of Bonduel. According to a press release issued by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the crash involved two fatalities and one injury.
The press release states that an 84-year-old John Lindert from Brookfield was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on State Highway 47, when it conducted a pass of a Mack semi unit. Lindert entered a no-passing zone, and struck a southbound Ford Focus being driven by 57-year-old John Fischer of Shawano head on. The collision between the two vehicles forced the northbound Lindert’s vehicle into the northbound semi unit that it had been passing.
Lindert and Fischer were pronounced dead at the scene. Lindert’s passenger, 81-year-old Donna Lindert, was flown from the scene by Eagle III Flight for Life helicopter to a Green Bay hospital, with life-threatening injuries. Warren Carlson, the 61-year-old male semi driver, was uninjured in the wreck.
State Highway 47 was cleared just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wisconsin State Patrol continues with its investigation, as names of the victims are not being released at this time.
