With the holiday season in the rear-view mirror, Shawano residents looking to dispose of their Christmas Trees can do so on normal trash pickup days.
“We pretty much follow the routes of a normal garbage day,” said Director of Public Works Eddie Sheppard. “Right now, there haven’t been a whole lot quite yet, but we start to see them more and more, so we try to make the rounds around the city every week.”
For the trees to be picked up, they’re asking for residents to place them on top of the snow banks and off of the road.
“We are asking people to put it at the curb,” said Sheppard. “We ask that they try not to bury it in the snow, especially when we’re getting more and more snow and it’s freezing, it makes it kind of difficult and heavy for us to get the trees out.
Sheppard adds that if residents place the trees on the snow banks it will be fine for pickup.
