Dorothy A. Behm, age 74 of Marion, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the St. Joseph Residence in New London, from complications following surgery.
Dorothy was born in Phelps on October 26, 1942 as the daughter of the late Guy and Viola (Pedrick) Preston. She graduated from Eagle River High School in 1959 and soon after moved to Clintonville where she worked at the Hanson Glove Factory. Dorothy met Carl Behm and the couple were united in marriage on November 6, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion. The young couple farmed in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County for a number of years before moving to Marion where they have resided since. Dorothy was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church over the years, and was employed at the Marion Elementary School where she worked in the food service department. Dorothy enjoyed taking trips to the casino with Carl as well as road trips with her friends. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, canning, crocheting, knitting, and collecting cardinals. She loved being around family and kept a positive attitude throughout her life. Dorothy was proud to have just celebrated 51 years of marriage to her loving husband Carl. She is now free from pain and in the hands of her Lord.

Daughters: Lisa (John) Hoffman, Tigerton; Lori (Todd) Arrowood, Fremont; & Tara (Tim) Retzlaff, DePere.
6 Grandsons: Austin & Aaron Hoffman; Tyler, Conner, & Carson Arrowood; and Tristan Retzlaff.
A Brother: Willmer “Hot Rod” and his wife Lynn.
2 Sisters: Carol & Vera.
A Sister-in-law: Beverly Behm.
Also numerous other family members and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
Dorothy’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion with Rev. Brad Dokken and Rev. Aaron Boerst officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 AM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at the Greenleaf Cemetery, Marion in the spring.
