Shawano School District was planning on having school start at the regular time Monday morning, but ran into bus issues, due to the cold. Shawano Superintendent Gary Cumberland said he received a call from the bus garage, and had to make a quick decision.
“I was told the buses were running at 4:30 in the morning, and after the first buses went out, the other buses were gelling up and we had to stop the routes.”
Cumberland said only two buses were out on route when the problems started to happen.
Cumberland said the district decided to go on a two hour delay, get the buses back to the bus garage. Johnson Bus said the plan is to get mechanics to fix the buses and get them back on route.
