The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh scored the first touchdown of the game, then never crossed the goal line again, while dropping NCAA Division 3 Championship contest to Mary Hardin Baylor 10-7 Friday night.
The Titans had a chance to go ahead in the fourth quarter, driving to the Crusaders’ 35-yard line, but Bret Kasper’s pass over the middle was intercepted.
Oshkosh was held to just 32 yards rushing, after averaging 264 yards per game this season. Tailback Dylan Hecker punched in the only touchdown for the Titans, which finished with a record of 13-2, making their first championship appearance in school history.
The Amos Alonzo Stagg bowl in Salem, Virginia, was played without Mount Union or Wisconsin-Whitewater for the first time in 11 years.
