Michael Scott Jahnke, age 51 of the Town of Waukechon, Shawano died unexpectedly at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2016.
Mike was born June 8, 1965 in Shawano, a son of the late Eugene and Elaine (Jung) Jahnke. He attended school in Gresham and Shawano. Following school he entered the United States Army where he served from 1984 until 1987. He was station in Germany, working as a mechanic in the infantry and transportation division. Following his service, Mike was employed at Seagrave Manufacturing in Clintonville. He was the #1 painter of equipment at Seagrave. When you see a fire truck rolling down the road, think of Mike because chances are he probably painted it.
Mike so enjoyed his life. He spent many hours at his secret fishing holes that very few people knew about. He truly was “The Mighty Fisherman”… or tried to be. His fish fries were the best on County CC. If someone needed a hand with something, Mike was always there to help out. All you had to do was ask. Mike will truly be missed by many.
He leaves two sisters, Mary Jo and Jean; his nephews, Joseph and Michael Mulder, Christopher and Anthony Casey, and Braden Mulder; his nieces, Angelita Roberson, and Nevaeh and Madison Mulder; and his soul mate, Kathleen “Kat” Dunlap. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mark Jahnke.
A memorial service for Michael S. Jahnke will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Elias Lutheran Church, Town of Herman. Pastor Lois Graper will officiate. Private family interment will take place. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Shawano AmVets Post #10 will conduct Military Honors at the church.
