The Seymour Board of Education is looking for community input on the evaluation of the district’s needs through a district survey. The survey will be anonymous and offered both online and in print from now until December 23rd. To fill out the survey online, just head to www.scssurvey.org or Seymour residents can request a paper survey from the district office. Residents in the school district should have received a postcard with additional information in regards to the survey. As of the now the board faces the challenges of balancing the district’s needs with limited funds. With the revenue limit about 10 percent lower than the average school district, unless it is lifted through an operational referendum, the board will have no choice other than to make cuts to programs and student services. The district also has needs consisting of technology and infrastructure and these needs cannot be addressed with the current budget.
